Science Enrichment Day - March 2018

Leighton Middle School

We are a Middle School seeking to run a Science Enrichment Day for KS 3 pupils. Ideally we are looking for scientists from various fields to enthuse pupils, encouraging pupils to consider future careers that could be options for them if they pursue their love of Science as they move on to Upper School and beyond.

Mark Rutherford School          MK41 8PX

Goldington Academy              MK41 9PX

The Ultimate STEM Challenge is a national competition brought to you by BP, the Science Museum and STEM Learning.

Autumn Term 2017 with entries uploaded by 18th January 2018

We are asking teams of two to four students aged 11 to 14 from across the UK to put their Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths skills to the test and win some fantastic prizes.

The Ultimate STEM Challenge has been designed to build confidence and teamwork skills, and to inspire everyone, not just the science enthusiasts!

Get started
Choose from one of our three challenges based around the theme of My Sustainable Future. They are perfect for STEM Clubs, and you can request a STEM Ambassador to enhance students' experience.

1: Handy Hydro
2: Parched Plants
3: Brilliant Biogas
Key information.

Students can complete their challenge in a STEM Club, in class, during a collapsed timetable day or in their own time.
For each challenge teachers can get students started with an introductory PowerPoint and/or lesson plan.
Alternatively, hand out a student guide which contains all the information students need to work independently.
Entries can be completed over a shorter or longer period. We suggest a minimum of five hours, including homework.
Students are asked to create a PowerPoint or YouTube video showcasing their work.
You'll find the judging criteria and information about following a strong scientific method in How to enter.
Take a look at Top Tips on how to create a winning entry, and our Judge feedback from last year's competition.
Teachers upload the entries by 12 January 2018 using this simple entry form.
Prizes include an invitation to a celebratory event at the Science Museum in March 2018, an Ultimate STEM experience day, £500 for their school and Science Museum goodies.

Assembly Talk

St Mary's C of E Primary School, Hadleigh

Can you tell our primary pupils what you do?

Can you show them something that you do?

Can you inspire them?

We would love for you to speak at an assembly or drop in to speak to the children in their classrooms.
