Dr Zoe Waller STEM Ambassador Activities


Zoe Waller is offering the following talks to Schools and 6th form centres. Zoe tailors all off the talks to the individual audience and level and has experience delivering the same topics to schools and also patient support groups

The story of Taxol: A case study of the discovery of Taxol, from its discovery in tree bark to how we can use it to treat a patient with cancer.

Understanding Diabetes: A session based on current research which involves DNA.

Think you know the structure of DNA?: A session based on research on DNA structure, what we know about it and how it affects us in everyday life.

Careers in Pharmacy: This session covers what modern Pharmacists do and different career options you have if you study Pharmacy at University. If you think they just stand behind a counter and give out medicines… Prepare to be surprised. Aimed at students thinking about science and health-care based careers.

What is Pharmacy and what is Pharmacology?: This session will cover the two subjects and highlight how they differ and what careers you can do with each.
