Connect Education and Business would like to thank you for supporting young people by providing excellent work experience placements.

In the last twelve months we have successfully placed 3,500 students from schools across Suffolk, without your invaluable support this would not have been possible.

We held a celebration event 8th March 2017 at Finborough Hall, Stowmarket. The event involved celebrating success stories and presenting awards to formally thank employers for their role in helping young people achieve their potential and future aspirations.

This event will be held on an annual basis and we ask schools to nominate business’ they feel should be acknowledged and these are announced prior to the event. Nomination forms will be available once your work experience placements have taken place.

This year awards were:

Highest number of work experience placements hosted by a single company during 2015/16

Connect Education and Business will identify companies who have hosted a high volume of work experience placements during the last academic year and across a range of schools in Suffolk. Schools may also nominate companies  who have hosted a high number of placements.

Most consistent number of placements hosted by a company over the last 5 years

Connect Education and Business will use historical data to identify companies who have consistently hosted a work experience placement during the last 5 years. Schools may also nominate companies who have regularly hosted a placements to support young people and the local community to raise awareness of career opportunities.

Work experience placements leading to apprenticeship/employment

Connect Education and Business invite schools to nominate companies who have hosted a work experience student and as a direct result of the placement has employed the student.  Individual companies/employers may also nominate themselves for this award by providing details of students they have employed as a result of work experience.

Most supportive Supervisor/manager

Connect Education and Business invite schools to nominate workplace supervisors, mentors or managers who have shown excellent support for students during a work experience placement. Employers may also nominate an individual within their own organisation for this award.

Most engaging work experience programme

Connect Education and Business invite schools to nominate companies who have developed and implemented engaging work experience programmes. This may also include wider involvement such as research or projects that students have completed as part of their work placement. Employers may also nominate an individual or department within their own organisation for this award.

We look forward to seeing you for next year's event
