Royal Navy

Travelling the world, making a difference, shaping a career that’s built around your skills and ambitions. It’s about as far away from a regular day job as you can get. Many employers claim that ‘every day is different’ or ‘it’s not a regular 9-5’. The Royal Navy can genuinely make that claim. Whether you join us as an officer or a rating, you’ll enjoy the same prospects for a highly rewarding future: training, travel, adventure – and a career like no other.

Whichever level you join at, how you shape your career – and how far you take it – are all in your hands. Because the Royal Navy is only as good as its people, we give you everything you need to be the very best you can be.

We invest heavily in the training that will make you truly world-class in the role you choose. You’ll have a structured route through the ranks, with fast-track, on-the-job training as a constant feature. It takes hard work, discipline and determination; what you put in is what you’ll get out.

But looking good on paper is just the start. Being in the Royal Navy means a life of adventure, travelling the world, and doing a job and leading a life that are a million miles from the civilian world. It makes you well-rounded, worldly – and highly employable if you move on.

Army Careers

The Army is different from most jobs. The people you work alongside aren’t just your colleagues, they’re your best mates. And you don’t just get brilliant training and support, you get somewhere to call home.

There is no typical day. Some days you might be on base, the next you’re on exercise. However, after work your time is your own – as with any civilian job.

The Army Engagement Group tours the country talking to a wide variety of people about the British Army. We seek to inform our audience and give them a greater understanding of the British Army through a powerful, multi-media presentation, before giving them a chance to meet and question some of our soldiers

RAF Roadshow

Today’s modern RAF is the UK’s aerial, peacekeeping and fighting force. It’s made up of impressive full-time Regulars and spare-time Reserves who come from diverse backgrounds and work side-by-side to make a difference at home and abroad. When it comes to recruitment our focus is attracting the best personnel, and ensuring they’re well taken care of during and after their service in the RAF.

Staff from recruitment centres (Armed Forces Careers Offices or AFCOs) are staffed with a friendly team who are ready to answer your questions and provide personal advice about which roles could suit you best. They can also attend your school and discuss the opportunities available to the students as part of a careers day or other events.
